Take these 5 design/marketing tips to heart. Using them consistently will save you time in the long run and attract more customers.Do the marketing pieces you send out lack pizzazz and personality? Are they capturing the clients you want to work with?As your company’s in-house graphics person–perhaps more by default than by intention–you’re pressed to be a jack/jill-of-all-trades. You want to do a great job of producing promotional pieces, but you have little time to learn advanced design and marketing skills.

Your ongoing challenge is learning to do a little more to get a lot better results–quickly and painlessly.

How can you improve them? What Techniques Can You Apply NOW?

Take these 5 design/marketing tips to heart. Using them consistently will save you time in the long run and attract more customers.

<b>#1 Develop a brand identity and stick with it</b>

Branding is an all-encompassing concept that brings together your business’s product mix, pricing, ambience, promotions, identity, and much more. From a graphics point of view, it’s your logo, stationery, business card, website, and flyers that create a graphic personality. Your descriptive tag line bonds these pieces with added pizzazz.

Think about familiar brands like Nike’s. You know what it offers instantly when you see the logo (the Nike swoosh) and tag line (Just Do It!). You want that kind of instant recognition for your company.

The results? Your messages get noticed because you’ve built credibility and recognition into your brand through consistent use of graphic identity techniques.

<b>#2 “Hook” customers with persuasive writing and a “call to action”</b>

Make a habit of doing these two things: Use persuasive words that “hook” their interest, and include a well-defined call to action in every piece. When writing marketing pieces, what can you do to make them more effective? Apply these basics:

- Know who you are writing for and keep their preferences in mind as you write each word.

- Put your message in terms of “you” rather than “I” or “we.” People don’t care about what “we” offer; they care about how your product or service can make their lives better.

- Make it clear what your readers should do, think, or believe as a result of reading the information you present.

- State your intention as a command–known as a “call to action.” It can be as simple as “Call Today” or “Order It Now.”

The results? The whole point is to encourage your prospects to take action! Whether it’s to send an email or pick up the phone and call you, using precision wordsmithing persuades your prospects to take action…now!

<b>#3 Use digital photography and illustrations to add “kick” to your marketing pieces</b>

A ho-hum marketing piece generates few calls. What a waste! Learn the ins and outs of working with digital photography and illustrations — so much easier with Internet resources galore to choose from.

A few quick tips:

- Place your strongest image in the top half of the page where it will get the best visibility.

- Using one large picture makes a stronger impression than several smaller ones.

- Group several small pictures so they collectively form a single element.

- Juxtapose a small picture with a larger one for contrast.

The results? Photos and illustrations help you add the “eye” appeal that translates into “buy” appeal.

<b>#4 Jazz up your layouts so your most important points stand out</b>

Break up monotonous lines of text with attractive “pull quotes” or “call-outs,” which make critical information stand out on the page. To create a pull quote, just copy a provocative or challenging statement from your text and paste it into a different position on the page using large, contrasting type. Add decorative quotation marks, border it with lines, or place it inside a box to jazz it up.

The results? The points of interest you’ve added draw the reader’s eye to the exact point you want them to remember.

<b>#5 Ensure professional results by using the right file formats</b>

You’ve just created a flyer that will be printed and mailed to your clients. To finish it off, you import a needed graphic from a website and send your file to the printers. Ouch! The resulting graphics looks blotchy and amateur in print. What went wrong? Graphic file formats for the Internet (72 dpi, low-resolution JPG and GIF) and file formats for offset printing (300 dpi, high-resolution TIF and EPS) are totally different animals. In this case, you’ve used the wrong file format and resolution for your purpose.

The results? Choosing the right file formats gives you a professional-looking document with clear images and the quality you want.

Start using these five easy techniques to add pizzazz and personality to your marketing pieces now, and you will “hook” new clients immediately.

Carton sealing tape is just one of the many kinds of that highly useful range of products, tapes. Made of paper or plastic like polypropylene, carton-sealing tapes are self-adhesive, and secure the cartons in which you ship your products.Carton sealing tape is just one of the many kinds of that highly useful range of products, tapes. Made of paper or plastic like polypropylene, carton-sealing tapes are self-adhesive, and secure the cartons in which you ship your products.

They are typically two or three inches wide, and come in rolls of different lengths. The rolls are packed 24 or 36 or more per carton (which is then sealed with one of these same kinds of tapes!) The glue used for providing adhesion might differ depending on the strength of sealing required.

<b>Different Kinds of Cartons and Sealing Tapes</b>

There are lightweight cartons, heavyweight cartons and cartons falling between these two in the matter of weight. Then there are single wall cartons, multi-wall cartons and corrugated cartons. There are also over packed cartons that tend to bulge and under packed cartons that tend to fall in awkward shapes.

If all sealing tapes were produced to maximum specifications (of material and adhesive strength) to handle all the above carton situations, it would be overkill. It will push up the costs for simple packaging needs. The cost of the superior kinds of sealing tapes tends to be two to three times that of the simple varieties.

For lightweight single wall cartons packed normally, the comparatively inexpensive variety of carton sealing tape will be quite enough to secure it during short transits. On the other hand, a heavyweight multi-wall or corrugated box that is under packed will need the best kind of sealing tape to secure it for a longish trip.

Carton sealing tape suppliers thus supply different kinds of tapes in different price ranges. The tape material used could be strengthened with blends and weaves, and the glue could be faster sticking with very high bonding strengths. A normal sealing tape might have a tensile strength in the range of 20 pounds while the higher grades might have 35 pounds or more.

<b>Carton Sealing Tape Pricing and Features</b>

Carton sealing tapes are made with paper, polypropylene, PVC, UPVC and other materials, including blends. The glue can be acrylic, synthetic rubber adhesive and such. Widths are typically 2 inch or 3 inch. Each roll can be, say, 110 yards.

Tapes differ in their tolerance of temperature ranges, color, water resistance and resistance to splitting, peeling, cracking and drying.

They come packed with different numbers of rolls per carton. There might be 24, 36, 72, 144 and more rolls per pack. You are likely to get lower prices per roll if you order the higher roll cartons.

The carton sealing tape can be a clear transparent tape, or colored in specific colors. They can be overprinted with handling instructions or promotional messages.

<b>Conclusion</b>

Carton sealing tape is just one kind of the many kinds of special purpose tapes available for different applications. They come with different characteristics and in varying prices depending on such things are the strength of material used, and that of the glue. The tape requirements vary depending on such things as the package weight, type of carton material used and other factors.

There’s a constant supply of displays that go up… Christmas, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Fourth of July… and the list goes on in a never ending cycle.

Why do stores focus so much on holiday and seasonal themes? Heck, there’s a lot of money to be made! The next time you’re twisting your shopping cart around a center aisle display, ask yourself how you can cash in on a little of the holiday bonanza.

Let’s face it, people are season conscious… whether they want to be or not. That’s why sneaking a little holiday language into your direct mail headlines is a good idea.
3 Steps to Incorporating Holiday Headlines

1. Which seasons does your product/service relate to?

New Years
Valentine’s Day
President’s Day
St. Patrick’s Day
Easter
Spring
Fourth of July
Graduation
Summer
Family Reunions
Back to School
Sweetest Day
Halloween
Fall
Thanksgiving
Winter
Christmas

The list is endless! Find a few to focus on. Keep an expectancy. alive in your marketing campaign all year long!

2. Combine your offer with a holiday a theme.
Add a new twist to your offer to make it seasonal. If you offer lawn care services, you might want to zero in on the fall leaves lying on the ground. There are a million and one ways to spin your. product to match the upcoming. season or holiday.

3. Target the Reader
Why would the reader want to use your service or product? Is it unique, top-of-the-line, cost effective, time efficient? Speak to the needs of the reader.
Normal business slumps. can be avoided when you ride the coattails of the never ending list of seasonal. and holiday events!

What could be more welcoming than the spicy smell of hot apple pie to receive you into a brand new neighborhood full of people you’ve never met? Perhaps not…What could be more welcoming than the spicy smell of hot apple pie to receive you into a brand new neighborhood full of people you’ve never met? Hopefully you life has been full of warm, hospitable neighbors wherever you’ve lived. Perhaps not…

If you’ve ever had a bad experience with a neighbor, you know just how much those invisible people really know about you. Maybe they peer through the curtains every time you leave the house, or have a secret spy chain… who knows how they gather their ill-gotten knowledge? Fortunately, nosy neighbors aren’t all bad news – for the marketer anyway.

The facts are that regardless of whether we trust them to watch over our possessions or are afraid to leave our possessions unattended in our absences, neighbors seem to know a lot about us. They know when we are usually home, and when we’ve been out past our normal bedtime. They’ve probably received mail meant for us, and know which catalogs we read. Hey, this knowledge is a goldmine in the hands of a savvy marketer.

Name dropping takes on new meaning when used in the context of the “keep up with the Jones” or “keep tabs on the Jones” philosophy – whichever the case may be. All you have to do is casually mention that Sally Jones across the street uses your product or service, and you can watch calculating interest immediately spring into the eyes of your prospect.

Imagine the success this could add to your next direct mail campaign! Heck, when your prospective customers know some one, intimately or casually, who’s on your customer list it adds credibility to your claims. They can simply step next door to find out more about you. You supply a link that connects them to you, and increases the odds enticing them to give your product or service a try.
3 Steps to Converting Neighbors Into Loyal Customers

1. Make a List
Print a detailed list of your current customers and their addresses.
2. Do your Homework
Research a local criss-cross street directory online or at your local library, and create a list of the neighbors on each side and directly across the street from your current customer.
3. Put it in the Mail
Send out simple form letters that allow you to include the name of the neighbor you count as a loyal customer.

The formula for successfully turning neighbors is pretty simple. You do the math…

1 Customer + 4 Neighbors = Double Your Current Customer List

It’s a sure-fire way to win credibility and cash in on natural instincts. I’ve never met a marketer who wasn’t ready to jump at the chance to double their customer list and convert it into profits.

You may have a filing cabinet full of the dynamite that will blast your business into a brand new level of success this year. It’s a good reason to dust the cobwebs of the files that have been laying around and not doing their fair share for years.

People are often known in preserving the artworks or portraits that had been significant to them – photographic images of happy moments, fascinating places or any themes that they find interesting and worth keeping are preserved and well taken cared of. Because of people’s interest and enthusiasm of preserving and keeping the artworks it had persuaded business printers to come up with canvas printing services.

And is having a logo really that important? My answer to both of these questions is an emphatic YES!And is having a logo really that important? My answer to both of these questions is an emphatic YES!A logo is a graphical or visual representation of your brand. Your brand is your business, product or service and what it stands for. It’s whatever you are out in the marketplace selling.

Why do small businesses need a logo?

Why can’t they just market using their company name? Logos are expensive, right? Can a small business owner really afford to get a logo? Or at least a good logo? Lots of questions. Some I’m sure you’ve pondered yourself at one time or another.

I believe ALL businesses should have a logo

You need a graphic element that captures the essence of your business and communicates an idea to your prospects and customers. A mark that can lead the look and feel of all of your marketing materials.
You only have a split second to grab someone’s attention

You need to make the most of that time. A good logo can communicate a message or intrigue a prospect to want to find out more.

Before you decide you can’t afford a good logo
Let me assure you that is absolutely NOT the case. Look, I’ve been in the ad agency business for 20 years. During that time I’ve worked with some of the most talented graphic artists and designers in the business. But even I did not turn to them when I needed a logo for 10stepmarketing.

Why? I couldn’t. They were simply too expensive for my small business budget. So what did I do? I found a great alternative that’s inexpensive, fast and good.
You can get a great logo for between $300 and $500 from a company called LogoWorks. And, you’ll get a variety of logo designs to choose from and you’ll have them within just a few days. Plus you’ll get several rounds of revisions to make sure you are completely happy with your final mark.

What I like most about Logoworks is they require you to complete a creative direction worksheet that ensures their designs are strategically on target with your brand. This is KEY if you want your logo to be a good representation of your business. If anyone offers to design a logo for you without some form of creative brief or direction worksheet, don’t do it!

If you don’t have a logo, or if yours is in need of an overhaul, check out LogoWorks. You can learn more at http://www.10stepmarketing.com/valuabletips.htm

Google AdSense report earnings of less than an effective $1 CPM (cost per 1000 impressions), and the average runs in the range of $4-$5 CPM. Some people are making an effective CPM of $15 or more with AdSense. Oh, and best yet, this is all after Google takes its commission. While we can’t guarantee results, of course, since a lot of your success lies in your own hands, we wouldn’t have written this article if we didn’t believe in the power of Google AdSense. A lot of webmasters are making a lot of money off of AdSense, and there’s no reason you shouldn’t be one of them.

The amount of money you can make with Google AdSense mainly depends on what user needs your Website fills. For instance, a site about women’s issues can make some serious bucks on AdSense because of the high level of competition for related keywords.
The CPC (cost per click) is the amount you get paid every time a user clicks on one of those ad banners. CPC rates for competitive keywords can be more than $1, which translates directly to your site’s earning potential within the program.
However, if you’re in a less competitive market, you’ll make less money that’s just a fact of life. Still, it’s unusual to see anyone using Google AdSense report earnings of less than an effective $1 CPM (cost per 1000 impressions), and the average runs in the range of $4-$5 CPM. Some people are making an effective CPM of $15 or more with AdSense. Oh, and best yet, this is all after Google takes its commission.
About that commission commission is definitely one thing is that’s a little bit ambiguous with AdSense. Google doesn’t publicize it’s cut, and only displays the publisher’s cut in proprietary member reports, so getting good, accurate information on this has been difficult.
To date, comparisons of AdWords rates with AdSense earnings add up to commissions of between 40% and 60%. People speculate all the time on user boards as to why Google refuses to publish its commission rates, but no one has the answer. It might have something to do with legal reasons or it could just be that Google wants to retain the ability to change rates without having to send out an announcement about it each time, which costs money.

Learn how to turn your dream into a true money-making invention. Use these six tips to build a foundation for success in today’s competitive mass retail market.Learn how to turn your dream into a true money-making invention. Use these six tips to build a foundation for success in today’s competitive mass retail market.

1. Protect yourself. The first step to success is making the investment to protect yourself. It can cost anywhere from $500 or even $10,000 to patent your idea, but it’s worth it. This is an area you don’t want to skimp on, even if it means you have less to spend elsewhere. Without a strong patent, you’re more vulnerable to dishonest marketers and get-rich quick schemes and less attractive to the reputable marketers. Ensure the patent is in your name only; don’t assign your patent to any other entities.

2. Do your market research. Market research doesn’t have to cost big bucks. In fact, it can be as simple as mailing or e-mailing a quick survey to your friends and family. Ask questions that will help you determine whether there is a need for your product, if it’s appealing and if it solves a problem. Ask for honest answers and evaluations. You may find you need to change a few things about your product, but this initial step can save you valuable time and money later on.

3. Develop a real prototype. Marketers are looking for real products, not just ideas. Take the time to purchase your own materials and design a prototype by hand, or investigate other options. Enlist the services of an industrial design company to build a good prototype. Or try your local college or university. Many have industrial design departments that provide this service. However, avoid the urge to mass produce your product at this stage in the process. You want to get some sales experience and develop a marketing strategy before investing the money in mass production.

4. Get some sales experience. Most marketers want to see a little sales success before agreeing to represent a new product. It can be as simple as visiting your local hardware store and pitching your new product to the owner. This is a great way to get some feedback. Retailers know what sells and why, so they can lend valuable insight. Plus, if you are able to find a few stores that are willing to sell your product, and you can demonstrate a sales history, it’s more likely a marketer will agree to represent your product.

5. Create a video demo. To entice a marketer to choose your product, it’s important to include a demo that shows your product in action. This doesn’t have to be anything more than a home video, but a video is the best approach. Drawings just don’t do a good job of demonstrating how a new product works. Real people using the real product is always best. Be sure to record close-up views of the product, along with several action shots. Talk about the product, what problem it solves and highlight any bells and whistles that make it unique.

6. Find a reputable backer. Once you’ve patented your idea, conducted market research, developed a prototype, created a video demo and have some sales experience, it’s time to find a marketer to help you sell and promote your product in the mass retail market. It’s important to spend time researching companies. Generally, it’s best to avoid all-in-one shops. The more work you do yourself, the better. Look for a marketing company that is credible and that has established relationships with mass retailers. Experience is of the essence here. Beware of those who seem dishonest or appear to take advantage of inventors and/or manufacturers by charging high fees. If possible, ask to talk to other inventors or manufacturers the company represents.

Calendars have been indispensable to many people since they were first used. They help keep tracks of appointments and special dates. For most people each day is just like the last, with the sun rising in the east and setting in the west. For busy people time flies fast but for some, each day is a constant waiting in emptiness. When the calendar was not yet introduced people count days by tally just like a prisoner’s tally on the dungeon wall. Luckily today, there is no more need to carve lines on the wall just to keep up with days. Calendars are now available to help us carry on with each passing day.

As every new year starts you would need to dispose of your old calendar and buy a new one. As they say, out with the old, in with the new. Calendars have been indispensable to many people since they were first used. They help keep tracks of appointments and special dates. For business owners, they can give out calendars to their customers each year as part of their marketing strategy. Nevertheless, some businesses are concern with the cost of printing a calendar especially if it involves a lot of color. With the printing technology today, a business owner need not worry about the cost of printing a calendar anymore. There are machines and technologies available nowadays that make calendar printing faster, easier and more affordable.

So when designing your calendar ask the following question: how many colors will you utilize? What pictures will you use? How much is your budget? Answering these questions is important because it will tell you how to approach your calendar design more effectively. A professional can also help you in the designing process. They can tell you what design fits your image and your budget. Remember that people will see your calendar for a long time so making a good impression is very important.

Thus, when considering the overall look and feel of your calendar, design it with utmost care. Do not overdue the graphics. If you have a logo, use it in the calendar. Full color photos are always a good idea and unless you know what you are doing, it is better not to design your art work. And when it is time to print your calendar, make sure that you are dealing with a reputable and knowledgeable company.

Remember that calendars are a good way to attract customers especially if your calendar is unique and attractive. It can help build good relationship with your current and new customers. So take advantage of this opportunity to keep customers and attract prospects.
